Mac Fashion Nomad Mattene Lipstick Styleseekers

Wandering about the streets of Amsterdam, feeling slightly light-headed, I popped into Douglas and instantly came across the Mac counter. MMMm munchies!
I had been thinking about buying my first red lipstick for some time. However the lack of a nearby makeup counter has meant that I have been unwilling to take the leap.
I originally wanted Lady Danger, a matte red with a fierce undercurrent of orange but it was it was out of stock.
Not leaving without a fight with my bank balance, the colour of the makeup artist’s lipstick caught my eye.
The colour was Fashion Nomad, a lighter orange-red with a more natural sheen, like lipstain.
It is a Mattene Lipstick part of the Mac’s limited edition fall collection Styleseekers.
The texture is so creamy which gives it a glide on application feel, and afterwards it feels like there is nothing there.
The staying power I would say lasts between 2 to 3 hours.
I love the colour. The orange tone adds character to any look, while the texture gives a soft and effortless looking finish.
At first when leaving the store I felt unsure about my purchase since it was my second choice. However not far away was the Flower Market which made me realise if one red is unavailable there is always another one you can drift towards around the corner.
Fashion Nomad is available at Mac Cosmetics and Debenhams for £14.00

Barry M Nail Paint Berry Ice Cream

Barry M are the leading brand in colour cosmetics and have become a household name with their advert television debut a few years ago and rising celeb approval. (They recently had a nice bit of product placement in Tulisa’s "Young" video……I really don’t know how I know that).

The family run company prides itself as being 100% British and has enjoyed a cult status dating back 30 years. I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to pop history so I found it interesting to learn that punks and new romantics back in the 80’s were using Barry M to create their outrageous statement looks.

I learnt about Barry M nail paint range from blog reviews. Berry Ice Cream caught my eye because the lilac colour reminded me of the colour my friends had their bedroom walls when I was younger but I was never allowed to have. At 2.99 the colour is now mine to enjoy and I think it is so pretty and feminine!

The nail paint is fast drying and after a few coats the colour has a lovely glossy opaque finish. The Barry M nail paint range is available in Boots and Superdrug.

I dabble in playing the guitar so I never paint my nails, instead I thought I’d share a picture of my feet with the internet world hmmm. Anyway I hope you can see the colour clearly.
